As way of an introduction to these articles from the paper, I thought I would give a little information on the history of the Dalhousie area. For this I thank the work previously done by Mrs. Margaret Russell in her "Memory's Album: A History of St. Brigid's Church in East Dalhousie", the extensive work done by Eileen Casey and Rhonda Norton in their "The History of East Dalhousie" and numerous discussions with many of the older residents of the area.
